Emirates’ Newcastle passengers pass 100,000

21st May, 2008 – Emirates today flew its 100,000th passenger on its service between Newcastle and Dubai.

The 100,000th traveller on the service was Michael Reay, a Director of North East firm Equine Products UK Ltd, which manufactures food supplements and health care products for horses. Mr Reay, who is originally from Hexham, uses the Emirates’ service to travel between the company’s Newcastle headquarters and the Middle East which is a major sales territory. He also uses Emirates’ global network to travel on from the Middle East to other sales regions such as South America.

Reay says: “Before the arrival of the Emirates service, I had the hassle of taking connecting flights via Heathrow or Paris. Now, I can travel direct from the North East to the Middle East and beyond, and I’ve already flown over 100,000 miles with Emirates since the service started.”
