John Coatsworth’s vibrant and quirky style has captured many iconic images of our region, and we are delighted that his paint brush has caught the vivacity and animation that characterises Newcastle International Airport.

The two pictures commissioned act as a celebration and snap shot of Newcastle International.

The second picture celebrates the opening of the £8.2 million Air Traffic Control tower and the arrival of the Emirate’s long haul flights, a huge tribute to the hard work and prosperity at Newcastle International.  You can also see the one of a kind purple fire engines!

Doug Hall and John Williamson were chosen to commission a series of local photographs that capture the wonders of the North East, that would be attractive to both visitors and Geordies alike! Both photographers are well known and respected in the North East.

The art work is now proudly on display along the walls, on the approach to the security search area. These breath-taking images are more than worth a quick look!

The photographs include images of historic monuments such as the Tyne Bridge, as well as dramatic coastal photographs such as Bamburgh Castle.
